ABOUT

Headshot 2_edited.jpg

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Falmouth, Maine. My work in counseling has focused on supporting people through many challenges, including; depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and stress related to life's many transitions.

I provide counseling that is comfortable, collaborative, conversational and client-centered. I  will support you through the counseling experience, helping to explore the thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or situations that led you to counseling to begin with.  By providing a safe and nurturing space, I can help identify the barriers that may be prohibiting you from finding a life that is most fulfilling, and will provide guidance in discovering new ways to get there.

I provide counseling services to adults. Though trained in several treatment models, I believe creating a trusting relationship will lead to the best outcomes and will naturally determine which model will work best. To see detailed information on the modalities used in my practice, please read below.

Internal Family Systems Therapy

  • As an IFS informed therapist, I will support you in understanding the different parts of your personality that make you, you. The goal is to better understand the origin of your parts and to better understand why they do what they do and, if needed, find healthier ways for them to present in your life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Explores thoughts, behaviors, and feelings in an effort to show how they are all connected. This type of treatment helps identify helpful vs. unhelpful thinking patterns and allows you to explore alternative ways to consider and react to situations that could be causing challenges in your life. Mindfulness strategies may also be used as a part of this treatment.

Emotional Freedom Technique "Tapping"

  • A technique using light pressure or tapping on certain points on your body to help relieve symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, etc.  This technique will be taught to you and there will not be any physical contact between you and the clinician.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Specialized treatment for children, adolescents and young adults faced with symptoms related to witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event in their life. This treatment will provide education on trauma, how it impacts the body, both physically and emotionally, and will then explore a a variety of techniques to help improve symptoms.
